On 16th January 2005, the Centre for Graduate Studies held a reception and orientation ceremony for its students at OUM

student with OUM.

Puan Wan Noorul Qamar
Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
I received my first degree in Chemical
Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute, New York and am now a
General Manager of PS Pipeline for
Shell. Recently seconded to oversee the
management side, I have decided to take
up the MBA and have chosen OUM as it
offers the best in learning flexibility
compared to other conventional universities. Basically, I have
been looking for the right university and the right time to pursue
my master’s degree and OUM is the right one, a university that
offers flexibility for working mothers like myself.
Cik Ambiga d/o Sreedharan
Masters of Management (MM)
I am a graduate of Economics from
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)
and am now working as a Human
Resource officer. I have been advised by
my family to further my education and
after getting great recommendations by
my friends, I finally decided to study at
OUM. What appeals to me most about
OUM is the teaching and online mode of delivery. Having a tight
working schedule, e-learning is the only possible and reasonable
way for me.

Encik Masran bin A Ghani
Masters of Management (MM)
I found out about OUM through one of
the local dailies. I came across an article
that featured the Masters programme in
OUM. I was impressed with it and
decided to attend one of the talks given
by Prof Dr Md Zabid during the
programme preview in Sarawak. I am a
father of 5 with the eldest being 20 and
youngest 9. To balance off being a father and my hectic working
schedule as a Human Resource Development Manager for
MLNG, Bintulu, Sarawak time management is essential.
Because of this, I’ve decided to enrol in OUM as I feel that OUM
offers the most flexible learning methodology to cater to the busy
working adults. So far, for the first semester, I have booked
roundtrip flights to attend lectures here in KLLC.
Encik Syahmi Bhari
Master of Information Technology (MIT)
I am a graduate of Bachelor of Business
Administration in International Business
from Universiti Utara Kedah (UUM). Now,
I am currently a systems analyst (team
leader) with Affin Bank and have been
working there for six years. I am married
and a father of one. What I find appealing
about OUM is that it offers a very
interesting and convenient payment mode compared to other
conventional universities. Also the fact that OUM gives
opportunity for a non IT graduate like myself to study IT. This
would be very useful in my current line of work.
